MYLO preview

Mylo needs no introduction. So meteoric has his rise to fame been that its hard to believe it was only in May this year that his stunning debut album ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’ was released to universal critical acclaim, rightly drawing comparisons with Röyksopp, Daft Punk, Air & The Avalanches. Already well established in the club scene, he is now enjoying regular radio play well ahead of his first official single release in October. After studying here in Oxford, the man described by the NME as ‘the saviour of dance music’ returns to play live with his three piece band. Catch him now, before he goes stellar. It won’t take long.
And if that wasn’t enough, live support comes from the Freeform Five. With their reworking of Isolee’s Beau Mot Plage, they rapidly established themselves as sought after remixers, and have since worked with N*E*R*D, X-Press 2, Felix Da Housecat and Elton John, amongst others. They have also been creating a storm on dancefloors across the country recently with their own productions, most notably ‘Eeeeaaoow’ and the four piece will be playing tracks from their debut album ‘Strangest Things.’ Prepare to be taken on a musical journey of eclecticism at its best.
Our live visuals are this time supplied by three talented VJs all making their Peepshow debuts, with Mavis from London based VJ crew We Make Telly, and Dr. Mo both fresh from playing at the Big Chill festival, along with Mylo’s own The Phantom. With DJ support from Taste’s Like Chicken’s DJ Aleekat & Peepshow resident Peepshow Paddy, fresh from a busy festival season, our most exciting line up yet is complete. Basically, get the Friday off work, buy your ticket now, and get ready. This one is going to be a proper belter!
OTHER NEWS
The summer break was a busy time for our Peepshow residents, with Omeron taking a break from his jet-setter lifestyle to squeeze in a date at the Baraka festival, and house band Laroca celebrating signing to the Just Music label with a live date on the Chill stage at the fantastic Big Chill festival, before heading back into the studio to record more tracks for their debut album, which is released next year. Peepshow Paddy also graced the stage at the Big Chill, playing bass in his brother’s band ‘the JBX.’ The festival season also saw Paddy play DJ sets in the lounge tent at the Truck festival, on the forest stage at the stunning Photonic festival in Holland and, as resident DJ in the Action Aid Space, play to a thousand people each night at the Reading festival.
Reading will also be the venue for our first official Peepshow outside of Oxford, when Peepshow guests at the excellent Breakin Even night on Saturday, 2nd October, at the Fez club. The Breakin Even crew rocked the last Peepshow in June and we look forward to returning the favour in their top room.
