Jaberwok

Jaberwok have been playing music together in various forms for nearly 10 years but have only been together as a band seriously since the summer. They are Jack Ceadel on bass, Toby Lee on guitar, Billy Rigg on keyboards and Rory Walker on drums. The band initially set out to be quite heavily electronic, aiming to fuse elements of the computer-based music that Rory, Toby and Jack had been listening to and producing over the past 5 years into a live setup. However, the band quickly became re-enthused with the spontaneity of playing live and ended up playing the funk which came naturally, with their electronic influences living on in the more psychedelic aspects of their music. With the departure of their fifth member, and primary knob-twiddler, Tom Cunliffe, to Manchester they have been playing purely live, although electronic elements will be reintroduced at a later date. Influences are wide and varied but primarily: Hendrix, The Meters, Pink Floyd, Leftfield, The Egg, Simon Posford and Lee Perry
